The WORLD is about to run out of WATER. NASA has confirmed that countries around the world are heading for a dangerous cliff -- running out of water, a necessity for life to exist.
Once again, I find myself trying to get Americans to Think AHEAD -- and take action -- BEFORE the crisis hits. If you think running out of oil is bad, turn your water tap off for just 1 day. Imagine that on a GLOBAL scale. The truth is you could still live without oil (even if you had to rely on solar and wind energy) but you cannot live without WATER.
NASA discovered that we humans worldwide are using up our underground aquifers that took THOUSANDS of years to charge - when its GONE its GONE. This is why the Pentagon says climate change is dangerous - global chaos is never a good thing. Mass migrations and wars result.
The increased droughts brought on by climate change plus the addition of 7 billion people to the planet is stressing our most vital resource: Drinking water (forget about using it for anything else when its that critical).
WHERE is our planning for water use?
Why aren't we addressing this in CONGRESS? And the UN? Why wait until literally BILLIONS of people find themselves without WATER?
Texas is not immune. Despite our recent rains, Texas towns are running out of water - some are resorting to recycling waste water. California is in crisis mode - an example of what lies in store for the rest of us when the droughts return. Chile today is having droughts not seen in over 40 years.
The global climate is getting worse. We sit like frogs in the kettle as it slowing heats up, thinking all is well - until its too late and we are already cooked.
Before 9/11, I talked about the potential of terrorism visiting America for years without anyone paying attention (I wasn't the only one it turned out --the others were ignored also). This may yield the same result but it doesn't take a genius to look at these NASA studies and decide "We must take action NOW".
Add WATER ACTION to the 'to do' list in "Agenda for American Greatness" --A roadmap for our future success...
