This is a GOOD Article by Bill King. And true.
I TRIED to be a Republican. Senior Bush seemed worldly and moderate, so I ran in the GOP 3 times starting in 2000. But the anger towards Hispanics and gays and other people drove me away. The Democrats embrace diversity, and that's what makes the world go round and America strong.
I traveled the world and met all kinds of people. I don't share the negative attitudes i saw in the GOP, which have gotten worse. But i found that moderate Republicans do exist and are great people - the problem is they aren't the ones voting in the primaries...It is the anger people who vote in the primaries, electing fringe candidates who don't seem to like women, Hispanics, blacks, poor, etc. including people from different country clubs...(ok, last one is a joke).
