Why Would China Fear a Cartoon About a Rabbit?

Lost in the news blizzard is the fact that protests are GROWING in Yemen, Bahrain, etc.

If Bahrain goes, Saudi is next. People want a voice in gov't.

The Mideast protests have got the Chinese terrified of even a cartoon about a rabbit...

Libya, $100 Oil, Muslim Hearings, Int’l Women & Fixing Mexico

Global American Series

Libya, $100 Oil, Muslim Hearings, Int’l Women & Fixing Mexico

This week on Global American radio we cover the hot topics of the week that impact Americans: the Libyan killing fields, $100 oil and the future of gas costs, the DC hearing on Muslim radicalization, what happened to women on International Women’s Day, and the Mexico mess – and how to fix it.

Yep, we know attention spans are short so we crammed it all into an hour program, starting Saturday at 9 am Central time, on Business 1110 AM, streamed on www.Business1110KTEK.com and podcast 24/7 on www.GlobalAmerican.org

Segment 1: Will the people of Libya lose their battle against Col. Gaddafi, the man who murdered Americans on Pan AM 103 and is now using mercenaries to murder his own people? Former Ambassador Ryan Crocker, who is now with the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M has a sobering assessment of their chances. I still vote for a Hellfire on Gaddafi’s head and its OVER.

On gas costs, “The days of cheap oil are over,” says Nexen CEO Marvin Romanow. Is $100 the new price for gas? Are gas prices higher, lower or about the same as in years past, when inflation is factored in? How much does gas cost now compared to decades past? (You’ll be surprised by the answer). You’ll also be surprised to find out how our current prices compare with a gallon of gas sold in China and Europe.

Find out why China is deadly afraid of what is happening in the Middle East – so much so that a rabbit cartoon was banned from their Internet. Could they be next? Saudi?

In Segment 2, we cover the Washington DC hearing on the “radicalization of Muslims in America.” Is this an education or a witch hunt? Is Chairman Peter King objective when he says that the Irish Republican Army (IRA) was NOT a terrorist organization (despite its numerous car bombs and shooting Protestant civilians and the British.) Are Catholic terrorists OK but Muslims are not? How many Muslim attacks have there been in the U.S., considering 2.5 MILLION Muslims live in the U.S.? And how many terror attacks were discovered with Muslim help? What other groups pose a threat inside America? Why were law enforcement groups not invited to the hearing? We give you the FACTS.

In Segment 3, we hit on (yes, a bad pun) “International Women’s Day” which occurred this week--and find out who assaulted the Egyptian women, and why, when they tried to celebrate it? And why were the female protesters shot by the latest Presidential loser in West Africa who has refused to give up power? Women are now a majority on U.S. college campuses – what has happened to the men?

And finally in Segment 4, we look at the Mexico border security issues and what set off the cartel killings, the parallel with the Chicago gangster era during prohibition – and how we can fix it.

Closing Question: What is a Global American? It’s any American who listens to Global American radio to get ‘the big picuture’ on world events that directly impact us, and potential solutions.

Mr. President, this will be your Rwanda if you don't ACT NOW

Mr. President, ACT on Libya BEFORE THE REBELS ARE CRUSHED BY Gadafi, the GUY WHO MURDERED AMERICANS on PAN AM 103, then he snookered the Bush admin that he was "clean" --even engineering the release of the bomber from UK jail!

Mr. President, he's about to snooker YOU --IF you let it happen. The only thing worse than being too reckless is to be too cautious, especially when dealing with a proven snake who is murdering his own people.

This Saturday GA radio is all about Libyan's fight for freedom from someone who is crazier than, and deadlier than, Charlie Sheen...A "NO FLY" is a minimum.

Mr. President, this will be your Rwanda (Clinton still regrets it) if you don't ACT NOW, not tomorrow or the day after. People are dying and the tide is turning.

Time for thinking is over..Gadafi's aircraft are thumbing their noses at our fleet sitting offshore.

Traffic Changes 1982 to 2010 - China for example

To see Americans how much things have changed in the world the last three decades that impacts our future, my book will also include some telling photos -

Here are three - (1) one of me in Beijing in 1982 (much younger but proof I was there)...

and (2) a photo I took of Beijing traffic then (notice the empty streets) - versus

(3) photo of jammed Beijing Traffic in 2010! Looks like a New York/LA nightmare, right?

I also have a similar set of photos from past trips for India.

Want to know why gas is over $3 and could go ever higher regardless of "Drill Baby Drill"?

I'll give you 2 billion reasons why in the book, Better Times Ahead: April Fool.

Charlie Sheen never did this! LOL. Publication date to be announced soon.

Where Title "April Fool: Better Times Ahead" Came From

"[Michael’s Journal

Bombay, India 4 April 1980]

...It was about 2 a.m. as I leaned back exhausted on the back seat of the dusty Premier, racing down the dark streets of Bombay. As the car hit 60 to 80 kilometers per hour on the airport run from the Taj Mahal hotel in Back Bay --that's when it caught my eye--something bright and clean in a sea of dark rotting walls that make up Bombay's center city. We flashed by, hell-bent on our mission as I leaned wearily against the window of the taxi watching the faded, chipped and jammed tenement buildings whizzing by. The black Bombay air whipped my hair and was sucking itself into my nostrils. Rolling up the window only made the thick air hotter, so I let the wind blow, comfortable in the knowledge that I could leave what these people would wake up to tomorrow. I had to get out of India.

Driving through Bombay that night, what I saw should have warned me. It was something out of the ordinary. Bolted to the side of a building was an immaculate white plastic sign, which looked out of place as the taxi zigzagged wildly through Bombay's fetid night air. In the dim light the bold, red letters proclaimed:

"BETTER TIMES AHEAD."

Below it, a crisp blue line:

"APRIL FOOL."

Did I really see that? In a flash it was gone as we raced through the empty streets towards the crammed airport and a 5 a.m. flight to London... going home to Houston..."

Pending Book: “Better Times Ahead: April Fool - Looking Back on The Future of America.”

How can America “Win the Future” as President Obama has said we must when it has become the world’s largest debtor nation, ranks 12th among developed countries in college graduation (down from No. 1 for decades), 23rd in infrastructure in the world, and when we’re 27th in life expectancy and No. 1 in obesity, with an aging population that is pushing health costs through the roof?

“It CAN be done!” says Michael Fjetland, the author of “Better Times Ahead: April Fool - Looking Back on The Future of America.”

Michael is a Fortune-500 trained international negotiator who went from milking cows a farm in Iowa to negotiating billion dollar deals with experiences in over 50 countries. He went through a layoff during a recession and lost it all. He came back as an entrepreneur -- to negotiate international kidnapping and fraud cases in the Middle East and Europe. He became a TV terrorism analyst in Houston on 9/11, a very long way from farm life in Iowa. Now he is founder CEO of a successful ‘green’ company that saves energy, cuts solar heat and provides security for your weakest link.

His unusual life experiences fits our uncertain times. America is at a crossroads. The cry for freedom and democracy is breaking out in the Middle East after decades and, in some cases, centuries of rigid monarchs and dictators. Extremism is on the rise in all religions, not just Islam.

Stay tuned for the release date.

Ten Ways Charlie Sheen and Gaddafi Are Alike

Ten Ways Charlie Sheen and Gaddafi Are Alike

Or “America Sleeps While World Burns”

As millions of people battled for their freedom in Libya, Yemen, etc., Americans have spent the week glued to their TV set on TV show after TV show – watching Charlie Sheen obsess on himself. Have we lost our sense of priorities? Have Americans gone into a trance while the Middle East burns – and yearns for FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY?

So this week on Global American radio I decided to link the two events with “Ten Ways Charlie Sheen and Gaddafi Are Alike.” My thinking, probably in vain, is that people might pay actually attention to it since so many of us seem to have attention deficit disorder and are no longer paying much attention to a nation struggling to free itself from a dictator who killed Americans, etc. in Pan Am 103. I was surprised that there were that many common characteristics to talk about. (If Mr. Sheen would like to dispute my findings, he’s welcome to come on the program and complain, but only if we can talk about something other than himself and how rough it is to make only $2 million an episode.)

After Charlie and Gaddafi, we move on to “America’s Burger Flipping Future in a Space-age Global Economy” i.e. how America is “eating its seed corn” by disinvesting in education and the implications of those cuts on our future leadership in the global economy.

In segment three we focus on the Texas legislature’s “Emergency” legislature that was first out of the chute: requiring a woman to view sonograms prior to an abortion, while the State is cutting pre-K and child healthcare, laying off thousands of teachers and refusing to dip into its’ “Rainy Day” fund when the State is facing a $20-30 billion shortfall. I propose an amendment to that bill…

In segment four we look at how the Texas legislature, which only meets once every two years, in the last session failed to pass energy efficiency legislation that had strong bipartisan support. In the face of $100 barrel oil, will the State leaders once again do the same thing with energy efficiency bills during this session? Where are our leader’s priorities in preparing us for the future?

You won’t find these issues discussed on other radio programs – certainly not in the same way, so tune in Saturday to Global American radio Saturday March 5 at 9 am Central time, on Business 1110 AM, streamed on www.Business1110KTEK.com and podcast 24/7 under ‘Favorite Programs’ on www.GlobalAmerican.org
